Suspending workspace access
Suspend or restore a member's access to this workspace without touching their account.
Suspending workspace access
Admins can suspend a member's access to the current workspace from Settings, Members (or the Security page). Suspension is workspace-scoped. It does not sign the person out of other workspaces, change their password, or delete anything.
What suspension does
- The member immediately loses access to this workspace's data and pages.
- They see a notice that their access is suspended and can still use their other workspaces.
- Their role, tasks, and history are kept, so restoring access brings everything back.
Suspend or restore a member
- Open Settings, then the Members tab.
- Click Edit on the member.
- In the Danger Zone, choose Suspend workspace access (or Restore access).
Suspension vs other controls
- Remove from workspace: permanently removes the membership. The person keeps their account.
- Lock sign-in: blocks the account from signing in at all. Only available when the person belongs to just this workspace.
- Force logout: revokes every session for the account. Only available when the person belongs to just this workspace. To cut off access for someone in multiple workspaces, use suspension instead.
The workspace's last active admin cannot be suspended.
